As I recall, this all started with a Hannibal Burris comedy bit where he's taking Bill Cosby to task for something he said and basically ends the bit by saying, "Well Bill Cosby, you rape women, so shut the fuck up!", or something similar. I don't remember the setup for the comment.
I remember he's been doing the bit for a while, and have heard it several times, but a video of it recently went viral and that prompted the women to "come out of the woodwork". Or more likely promoted a journalist to investigate the prior claims, and that started this snowball. But we won't know that for sure unless someone pushes the original woman who came forward for what prompted her to come forward now.

40 year old allegations are hard to prove but a pair of lips can say anything, true or false. We saw a gang of women come out on Tiger Woods when he wouldn't pay a stripper, a house of pies worker and a few busted porn girls to shut up. Kobe is an ass but the girl was getting busy with everyone and wanted money and let's not forget about Dennis Rodman in SA with allegations of STDs only to prove he had nothing but the alleged victim had it.
Brave women would have come out years ago and taken action not wait 40 years to sue an elderly man with millions. Janice Dickinson has no credibility and is looking to stay relevant.
