Your all set if you go with fire stick as you only need an hdmi plug. The interface is great. Connecting to a laptop is certainly a cheaper option but you have to deal with booting up, and all the other bullshit. For $39 I still say firestick interface is the way to go, especially if you just want to just turn on your tv and press play. For a tech savy know it all like Celso the laptop probably makes sense. Okay..so my tv is a flatscreen...vizio..and along the bottom it says this...
Srs sound, dolby digital, hdmi, hdtv, and energy star..

Oh I have heard of roku, a friend of mine was talking about It a few months back...I think they picked it up at walmart,, or so I thought ...If you have a laptop with an HDMI port you are good to go! All you need is an HDMI cable.
