I have to wonder about OKC fans. Were they Seattle fans before? Are they from Oklahoma? Durant is a cool player and all, but how does one bandwagon from living in SA to OKC?
Lol, just busting your balls gerris. They are a great group and are coming together at the right time. Much respect for Westbrook and what he did in giving away a vehicle to a Mother of two who couldn't afford one to get to school and back which she was accepted to. Amazing story.
Curry on the other hand, is another type of human. Warriors likely repeat this year. For anyone who saw Curry tonight, unbelievable. Just ridiculous.
Well that concludes another season of Spurs basketball with us going down to a very hungry OKC team. Didn't imagine a second round out, but in all honesty, not sure anyone is going to beat Golden State. I'll be pulling for Durant and the Thunder to win it all however.
Thoughts on the season?
I personally didn't think our second unit looked as solid all year (way too many lineup changes throughout the season leading to inconsistency) as it did during our two trips to the finals against Miami where there was no guessing on rotations. Anderson seemed to be a huge downgrade to Bellinelli while also missed Corey Joseph defensively and ability to get into the paint. Really hope some improvements happen in the off-season, and give more time to Simmons.
Nba salary cap increases 11 million making it possible to sign that third guy SA needs to form a trio with Aldridge and Leonard. Or do they make adjustments and just sign role players? Will be interesting to see what we do to improve or just bring the same squad back and try again.
I've been on the coach-pop-has-got-to-go opine for years. Let's look at some some facts: the team is 9-8 in playoffs since the 2014 title with 2 HUGE disappointing finishes; ONE trophy in the past TEN YEARS (Yeah, I'm already claiming we won't get there next year either); the playoff record since 2014 - and we've yet to get to golden state; OUT-COACHED by BILLY DONOVAN? The ROOKIE coach?
Now, it's dawned on me not only does pop have influence on the court but on personnel as well. Aldridge was a nice addition but obviously not the answer. I could go on and on but I'll stop here.
