Sounds good! You can book with priceline and know what hotel you're getting. Bidding and buying direct two different things. I used to think priceline was good for discounts until I started using Hotels.com.. wow! I wouldn't bid on priceline ever. I mean, when I do that they give me shitty hotels. Like when I used to bid for 3 1/2 stars they' kept giving me the Holiday Inn and who wants that? ugh.
The only downside about using Priceline is not knowing where you'll be staying until after you've paid. I do always request 3 or 4 stars. I like hotels that have a lot of traffic so clients blend in. Originally Posted by reesec

NO joke! I got a few weeks to light my fireplaces and use the hot tub, and now back to this bs. Too bad I don't have a boat or live on the water...YET!! Originally Posted by London RayneWhat kind of boat you looking for? Sailboat/houseboat?
Speaking of cabs, this idiot cab driver here in NY attempted to charge me $48 for what should have been an 8 mile trip! He was just talking to me and I realized it was taking longer than it should have. I looked up the trip on my iphone and asked what road we were on? He said he was taking me a different way because some roads had snow on them and he didn't want to be slidding across the road. I'm like hello! You live here? You don't know how to drive in snow!? WTF!I hope you don't mind if clients bargain for your rates b/c that's exactly what you did here. If you get into a cab, you agree to pay the fare at the end of the trip. No different than escorting. Most big cities have rules that the cabbie has to use the "fastest and best" route. He's the professional, not you. Your iphone will show you the trip in pristine conditions.
I get to the hotel and pay him $30, which I still thought was a bit much! He starts telling me how he pays $5000 a year for insurance and the price of gas, blah blah blah
I tell him not my problem, you tried to hustle me because you figured, I'm from out of town and I wouldn't know any better. Fail! lol Originally Posted by reesec

Naomi, I bid because I get a better rate. Does buying direct through them give you deal as well?Yeah bidding does absolutely nothing for me. I used to bid here in the Carolinas and would never get what I want. I rather pay full price for a frikking 4 star then sit there and mess with that darn thing. I'll tell you this now.. staying at a hotel with outside entrance is trouble. You have your snitches and LE to worry about ha. I only stay in busy hotels where I can blend right in with everyone else. I'm not strutting around in 5inch heels and a cocktail dress when I check in so I've never had a problem checking in to a 4 or 5 star hotel.
The only time they've given me a crappy hotel was once. It was the Jamison Inn in Alabama. I had never even heard of it! lol The doors were on the outside! (cringe)
I stayed but didn't work from there and promptly moved the next morning! Originally Posted by reesec
