Compared to what would have happened if everyone would have thrown up their hands and said, "Let the market sort itself out!", then yes everything is fine now. We have a fraction of the unemployment that we would otherwise have. And really, besides the current unemployment rate and the multi-term issue of national debt what do you have to complain about? Would you rather have 40% unemployment? Would you rather have the recession last 20 years instead of less than 2? Would you rather have lost the entire automobile industry? Would you rather have lost both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars due to lack of funding?

Is it impossible to prove an alternative that never came to pass? Yes. But the neat thing with money is that you can reverse it's flow if you want to turn back the clock to that alternative universe. So go ahead and see what happens. Or better yet, the next time we have a financial crisis just throw up your hands and say, "Let the market sort itself out!"

There are times when doing the wrong thing is worse than doing nothing. The Administrations of both Bush and Obama have done the wrong thing, and has set the economy up for a devastating disaster, much worse than if they had done nothing to begin with. Not going to argue about what should have been done, because that would be fruitless. This is where we are now. Finding the right person to blame does nothing to solve the problem. The Dems blame the Reps, the libs blame the cons, and they are all right. It's all their fault. And since government is causing the problem, forgive me if I doubt their ability to solve it.

And as far as Iran, Afghanistan and now Libya, I opposed them from the start. And Libya? WTF are we doing in Libya? How much will this cost? What do we expect from this? We are trying to oust a government that hates us, for another government that will hate us.
