Omahan nailed it. Edith Piaf
was the greatest female singer of all times. If you haven't heard of her do a google. You will be amazed particularly if you speak some French.
She was known as the French Songbird. And with good reason.
For the member who didn't know that Marylin Monroe was a singer I think she was a better singer than actress. See her in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Aretha Franklin showed her abiltiy when she forgot the words to Mack The Knife and sang the song with improve. That takes more ability than one can imagine.
Takes some moxy to mention Emmylou Harris, Billie Holiday, and Stevie Nicks in the same breath. Makes one shutter.
