Sorry I wasn't there to comfort you and take your mind off the bridge closure.

I actually showed the nice trooper my boobies as I was so happy to be finally able to cross out of his jurisdiction. He just smiled, and so did the other trooper that was on the Missouri side - LOL.
I'll bet they smiled. What a treat for them after being yelled at for nothing of their own doing.

See everyone after the CWS.
Stay safe (I was going to add, "and dry" but it just didn't sound right).
Here is a link from the Omaha paper about the best routes to Kansas City from Omaha. Getting tougher to find a route there.

I can already tell the driving part of my trip to KC is going to SUCK!!

It took about 5+ hours to get back to Sioux City from Topeka Last Friday night. Couldnt cross at NE City, Omaha North to Mo Valley was closed too, so it was up to Blair and across to Mo Valley and it looks touch and go on up the interstate by Blencoe. The water is right on the edge of the pavement. Not that anybody would come up to Sioux City for anything
Yeah, and with quite a bit of rain last night, and it looks like some more heavy rain tonight, it could get worse for a few days. They are confident that I80 and I480 in Omaha will stay open. Also the Hwy 20 I 129 bridge up in Sioux City. High water probably will last through August at least, and maybe longer.

Instead of driving to KC next week, I think I'm just going to hire a row boat.

One of my customers told me tonight that part of Highway 75 is now closed in Nebraska, she didn't say specifically what part, only that it just closed today. This will make my drive down Wednesday very interesting.
Wait to go until next Tuesday. We can drive down together. lol
Nebraska DOT:

Hwy 75 is NOT recommended as an alternate North-South route due to existing
construction projects and lane closures.

I'll bet the traffic is backed up for miles and miles on Hwy 75.
Anyone know of someone with a boat I can hire to take me to KC? LOL

I may end up in a mental ward after my drive to and from KC. Hopefully someone will come visit me.
Elena, I'm sorry, but any of the those routes to KC would be a piece of cake in a car. Now try driving an 18 wheeler into downtown Chicago in stop and go traffic for the first time. And that was with a 53' trailer. Street I needed to turn off on was blocked by cops because of situation. Called for new directions, they told me turn on a street that had a railroad bridge with a clearance of 12', and my trailer was 13'6" high. So I had to back up about block and a half with lots of traffic using that road as a detour. Luckily a local semi driver just driving the truck tractor told me how to get where I needed to go.

So don't say anything about you needing to go to a psych ward, I'm thinking more like you need to hand someone your paddle, and let them get you in the right frame of mind. Heh Heh.
Well, they are releasing more water from Gavins Point Dam, here is a link to the news release from the Corps of Engineers, with other links on it for inundation maps etc.
