The NRA sends out a e-mail questionnaire to lifetime members asking if they approve of the Presidential choice. I suspect is 95%+ positive. You never hear of any disgruntled members.

I did not vote for the power position, which is the VP. Many members are disturbed by Wayne’s compensation. From what I gather, he has been compensated by over $8 million over the past five years.

People like Wayne because he is a bulldog in the pits. I think he has held the position for close to 20 years and while his methods do tend to irritate many, he does keep things in check.

I have been to two NRA conventions, but I have never met the man. I have been a lifetime member since 2000. The funny thing is about every three years or so I get an invitation to join the NRA. I drop them a line and tell them their record keeping sucks. It seems like even a longtime lifetime member is just a number.

I have friends that are members but think the organization has gone way too corporate, it’s all about the dollar. But it takes big bucks to fight the liberal/ Socialist/Progressives, who in truth want to dissatisfied America. Originally Posted by Jackie S

My understanding that only a small percentage of their revenue comes from individual memberships. I thought they get heavy donations from the industry. I could be wrong. The membership simply provide political muscle. In other words, this many people will vote for or against you depending on your stance of guns.

Wayne hasn't seemed too bulldogish as of late.
