And OP - the answer to your question can vary. But I suspect the main reason is to re-market themselves, often to shed any past negative reputation. There are also some who do so from a safety / wanting to remain somewhat incognito standpoint

As for the original topic, most providers change their name in order to run away from the old one. You can imagine all of the scenarios why that would be necessary. The more professional ones do it as a marketing gimmick. Always a good idea to refresh your brand every several years.
