Texas Sues Four States in SCOTUS

Hail to our South American Dictator in Chief !!

Look at the depths Scumbag Trump has brought us to !!

Trump is like that old Saturday Night Live sketch where the guy just won't take any hints and leave. He overstays his welcome.

Like a bad case of the Crabs. Once Trump gets on you he just won't leave.

That is why we get angry. He will not let go.

None of these suits are going anywhere.

You can't have people vote in good faith according to the Criteria of their state prior to and on election day and then come behind them later and declare all those votes "Invalid".

You can maybe use some info gleaned to modify the process for the Next election. But not for an election already over with.

Plus some of these same challenges were brought before the election and they were rejected by the courts.

when I was a kid, my little brother and sister and I, well we had humble circumstances

so as a consequence some kids we knew from elementary school, their parents wanted to do us a good turn, invited us to their house on a Saturday night to eat and watch tv

we didn't have a tv

so we walked to their house, and long about 9 they all started to get ready for bed, we just kept watching tv

finally they all did go to bed, while we, we just kept watching tv

after the news was over, the dad got up and asked us if we were ok, we said yeah, we are just watching the late late movie

he just went back to bed

when the test pattern came on after the national anthem, we left and walked back where we lived

even if we did get the hint, we just faded it

Did you get reminded that you support a Wannabe Dictator that is blatantly making a Coup Attempt in the USA ?
trying to follow his oath to protect and defend the constitution is his sworn duty

and defending the sanctity of the one thing we all have, the vote, is doing just that

but that isn't thought of in your philosophy

the four defendant states have been ordered by the scotus to respond in detail to the texas filing

it will be interesting to see how this plays out

louisiana, arkansas, alabama, florida, kentucky, mississippi, south carolina, & south dakota (oh yeah kristi noem) had all announced that they will be joining texas

not sure if they actually have yet or even ultimately will, but no matter

Just a wild guess as to conclusion.

Dear John (plaintiffs),
You have no standing to meddle in the affairs of other states.
Sincerely,
All nine of us.

I think the only speculation is if will actually be all 9. But, good for the court to actually hear the case.

The interesting thing is that this will set precedent for other future issues, so maybe Texas should not have.

Here's how it's likely to end:

Trump joins the suit, tainting the standing issue even further. SCOTUS throws this one out just like all the rest. Paxton won't get his pardon. You'll still be flailing in the dark.

Try speaking the truth, bamboozler. For a change.

You know Biden has beaten Trump in the popular vote Almost as bad as Obama beat John McCain. Obama beat McCain by 10 million.

Biden has only beaten Trump by 7 million.

Romney only lost to Obama by 3 million.

So Romney did Way better than Trump. He only lost by 3 million.

Trump has lost by over 7 million !!

What a fucking Loser !!
just wondering, are you including the trailer load from Bethpage to Harrisburg?

cuz if you are, call the fbi, they are trying to track them

Under the Constitution, each state appoints presidential electors “in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct,” giving state legislatures broad authority to define through state law how that state’s electors should be allocated.

The motion filed by Ken Paxton alleges that changes made in election rules governing absentee ballots in those states by “non-legislative actors” violated the Constitution and “cumulatively preclude knowing who legitimately won the 2020 election and threaten to cloud all future elections.”

Basically he's saying that election law was changed not by legislators as the us constitution directs but rather by members of the executive branch in those states.

Now those rules changes that Paxton is alleging are unconstitutional may not be as the legislature in those states may have given those "non-legislative actors" the authority to make those changes under their own state constitutions. And if these changes he's arguing are unconstitutional are at issue why didn't someone in those states bring a lawsuit alleging so.

I have a feeling that the lawsuit Ken Paxton is bringing is merely a restatement of other lawsuits that the trump campaign has already brought (and lost) and he's doing so to allow the supreme court to hear these arguments which have already failed in state courts.
