Because from the start this shouldn't have gotten out of hand. That is on trump. I've long believed that Trump wanted this to proliferate some cause he wanted a war to win. The virus was grossly underestimated and spread quickly and got out of hand. I think the play book was like Sars1 over ten years ago. It will just go away like that one did. Big difference is time from infection to symptoms with sars1 was like 2-3 days, flu like, so it was easier to contact trace. Covid is more like 2 weeks, nearly impossible to contact trace, thus the lock downs to try to contain it. It worked but didn't eliminate it. People started going out, virus mutated and vaccines happened which has helped. But we are headed right back to where we were.

Covid spread across the entire world, not just the USA. Might as well blame Merkel or the hnic of Goatfuckistan by your logic. A virus doesn’t give AF who’s president, it’s gonna do what it’s gonna do and nobody and nothing is going to stop it.

Where we fucked up (one of the ways) was to overreact and treat it different than we always have. Once we knew who was vulnerable, which was quite quickly, the kids go back to school and the not vulnerable back to living their life unfettered by bullshit. It would’ve circulated throughout the population, some people getting mildly sick, and been gone a 18 months ago. Then, and only then, do you start to vaccinate people. All doing it in the middle of an epidemic does is drive variants.

Everything we learned for 100 years was thrown overboard because we needed an excuse for mail in ballot fraud. It only cost the lives of a few million people to destroy our electoral system, a small price to pay in the minds of many.

No, I can't recall Trump ever saying "don't take the vaccine", I can remember him promoting treatments such as "light inside the body", "disinfectant, like a cleaning", "one day it will just dissapear", not to mention his pillow buddy and his quack treatment.



The real, scientific (or evolutionary) reason to stop this ASAP isn't the death toll. A virus has one goal, to survive and thrive. At a cellular level it learns to adapt and be effective (that's mutate to survive for the Newsmax crew), so the longer it can adapt the more difficult it will be to return to normal.

If you live on a 1000 acre, self sufficient ranch in Wyoming, by all means ride it out. IF you interact with others you have a societal obligation to contribute to the good of all. That is the very basis why civilization developed, improved survival odds in a group working together as opposed to being on your own all the time. Everyone has to sleep, having someone to stand watch meant you could rest, having someone contribute food when your hunt came up empty meant you had energy to hunt again tomorrow.

Don't take the vaccine if you don't want it, but do the world a favor and isolate.
