Mr Paterno later issued a statement, which read: "I am disappointed with the Board of Trustees' decision, but I have to accept it." Could have been a lot prettier end with an honorable resignation, but Joe Paterno went down with his head still in the sand
Finally a statement not influenced by that living off daddies' money "republican strategist" Scott Paterno.
trynagetlaid, we shall see. I know all my old fraternity bros still in PA are grabbing their season tickets back from their kids and going to the Nebraska game as a show of solidarity.
Penn State Honor was never really Joe Paterno. It lies in each alumni, scattered all over the world, trying their best to do the right thing and live their lives the right way with the lessons we learned in Happy Valley. This terrible tragedy serves to remind us of that.
I *HATE* Rumour Centeral ANYWHERE!
There is more than enough to investigate.
With that, more stuff will shake and fall from the trees.
I can never understand why people throw kerosene on the proverbial fire. Makes it more difficult those trying to do an unbiased investigation.
I can't get over the students rioting last night at Penn State in support of Paterno and the correct decision of the Board of Trustees. This whole fiasco has done unmeasurable damage to the credibility of this school and has also effectively given their sports programs across the board the NCAA death penalty for the next decade.
Oh Rakhir that was just sheltered drunk kids who are too silly to have any concept or understanding of the evil that was lurking under the surface.
Who hasnt wanted to turn over a TV reporting van or two, at least once in their lives.
Trust me, NONE of my 400 plus (we are a small one chapter fraternity started in 1970) PSU frat brothers have any problems with the house cleaning.
Read what Pa governor Tom Corbett has to say. He knew of facts/investigation for 2 years, he says, and was busting a gut for the housecleaning to happen.
About time those PSU kids show some gumption. Kent State didnt even slow the keggers down in Happy Valley.
Turn the page.
I'm wondering, who do you think Tom Bradley is gonna start with against Nebraska.
I'm hoping young McGloin. He shows poise, and he is learning quick.
I hate to take everyone down further on this Penn State issue but on my way home this evening I was listening to a XM Radio talk program and this topic came up again. In the discussion there was discussion that a very prominent sports writer will be running a story tomorrow on how Sandusky via his charity pimped out these boys to charity donors. This will now go federal because he was trafficking. The pool of offenders could potentially jump into the hundreds and they will be going after all donor records. This is freaking unbelievable!!!!
This guy needs to be shot now!
On top of that think of the law suits that are gonna be filed against the University that the tax payers are now on the hook for! Best thing that can be done now is bankrupt the school and shut it down. This is gonna blow up bigger than ever!
As for the *pimping* rumors...I pray to God they're not true! If it does turn out to be true...that would be a time where I wish that we had the death penalty for perps that would commit such a hideous crime!
Death penality would be to good for these SOBs.
