On any given day it is only worth as much as he is willing to offer and she is willing to accept. And it DOES change. So why so down on those that want to offer less?

I would like to chime in and thread lightly…(pun intended)

When I consider a provider for patronage, I look at her showcase, website, adds, P411 site, and her reviews.

One thing I have noticed is that almost every webpage that belongs to a provider usually says something to the effect that prices are non-negotiable. However after doing all the homework there will be variations in pricing, especially under the reviews. When you read a review that lists the price as 160/hr, and P411 lists 200/hr, and eccie add may say 180/hr, and her websites says 250/hr then it’s a bit confusing, especially when we are not supposed to talk about money when you meet.

Then on top of that I see ISO posts were guys throw out “I want X for $100” and some providers who I thought were non-negotiable on price reply in a favorable manor that appears to be less than they are offering on their websites or adds. I am not being critical, this is just an observation.

Exactly when is it ok to negotiate?

Of course, for the boycott/price pressure to have effect, the banding clients should make up a significant portion of a provider's income before the price agreement. There may also be a few providers leaving, as some do have a price of entry that is not negotiable, and they may rather do something else rather than ply their wares for less than $xx. Though I do think that limit is quite a bit lower than going rate in most cities.

EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE

The stated price on say showcase is their wish price. Some girls hit it more than others. Those that get their asking price on a consistent basis will scoff at price reductions request. While those who aren't getting many calls or have a pressing need for X amount of cash by Y date will be more open to negotiating.

It just matters how hungry the gal is to make some money. Would she stick to her price point and get 100% of Zero or accept a lower offer or two and take a couple of small birds in the hand?

If any of you guys know any contractors you know how it can be famine or feast from one period of time to another. Providers are no different.

The phrase "If she won't do it, he'll find some other girl that will" is appropriate here and ironic as well.
