Be very careful CJ7, your pals claimed we were in a recession back in 1992 during the election and attacked Bush with it. Problem is that the recession had technically ended in October of that year. So you can't have it both ways. If you look at the economy we are in a recession in all but the very narrow technical defintion. (two consectutive quarters of negative GDP growth) However, there are divided opinions on what is a recession.
