Yes, Assup. You have set the standard for decorum and civility to which we all should aspire. Thank you for your fine example of rational thinking and fairness.
I never cease to marvel to marvel at the depths of hatred and stupidity some of you "regular" posters achieve in every thread in this forum. Id like, just once, to see something resembling social and political discourse in your response other than "he's a moron" or "Obummr is toast" or "Fucking idiots!".

Wait a sec ... Fucking idiots is mine!

Never mind.

Carry on, ye mouth breathers. and please, brush up on your rithmatic! Originally Posted by Yssup Rider

COG, what the fuck is it with YOU PEOPLE? Making names up for our President, Big Tex, ME and other posters? Shirley you AND ALL THE REST OF YOU BUTTWIPES can be more clever than just making up stupid names for others?

Why don't you take a page for Chuck Norris' book? Get your blonde zombie babe wife (who hasn't blinked in the last lunar cycle) to declare 1000 years of darkness? Oh yeah! You'd have to pretend you were 72. Try and remember 72, COG. That one hooker you e reviewed a dozen times might vouch for your factually challenged ass. I'm an AARP member, but I damned sure don't FART DUST!

Please get your shit together. Bag it if you have to.

BTW, Kansas got its ass whipped by Rice? By a bunch of nerds! NERDS!

If I were you, I'd be more concerned with the Lesstosterone levels of anybody who lives in Kansas ... The Romania of the Midwest.

Y'all SUCK!

I haven't made up any names for President Obama, Assup. Otherwise, thanks for providing another fine example of the level of civility and decorum you set for us all. You are an inspiration to what we may all aspire. Thank you, again, Assup.

Your argument was refuted at every point with facts. You lied when you claimed the wars were not factored into the debt curve on the chart provided. You lied when you claimed the Dim Congress under Bush 43 forced the CBO to account for the wars in the budget. You lie when you claim the debt/GDP ratio is "irrelevant". You lie when you claim that the Dims are not responsible for the debt/GDP ratio of 63% under Odumbo. Originally Posted by I B Hankering

The only two sections which have any relevence to the current situation are the ones from 1929 to 1945 and the ones from 2007 onward. The first one has to do with the Great Depression and the current one has to do with the Great Recession. They are the only two eras that are comparable in our history. Both had essentially the same cause (out of control financial institutions playing roulette, craps, whatever with other peoples' invested money).

Sadly, the only thing that got us out from under the Great Depression was WWII (the BIG one). WWII, for the US, began 12 years and one month after the Crash of '29. The rationale behind the 2007-'08 stimulous was that FDR didn't throw enough $$ at the Great Depression soon enough. That may or may not be true and there are some who continue to argue that not enough was thrown at our current mess. Either way, it's going to take quite a while to build back up from the current ditch we now occupy. Who caused it is irrelevant at this point and a waste of energy, bandwidth and resources to continue to rehash it. Just as the USA began to move from a rural, agriculture-based economy to an urban, manufacturing-based economy from '41 onwards, we now are gong to have to revise our economic makeup. That ain't going to be easy and it ain't gonna happen overnight, regardless of who is running the show.

All of this crap we are indulging in here in the National Sh*tbox is sort of fun in a perverse way, but it's also quite useless with regards to helping to create an environment of figuring out how to pull together in order to go as fast as possible towards some semblance of a recovery. As long as everyone continues to waste the little brainpower available on one-upping those with opposing viewpoints we are just like the klowns in Kongress everyone is so disgusted with.

BTW, the transition in American politics from an agrarian focus to a more urban focus occurred in 1896 when McKinley defeated Bryan.
