Wondering something

I agree with Dallas...sites can be compromised and its best to contact provider and hear a voice but we should be safe .... weird that she got upset ...I AM GRATEFUL THAT MY LOCAL SISTERS ARE REFERENCE FREINDLY....WOOOO HOOOOO

I didn't realize it was possible to get a fake P411 client account but can see how LE might use one to bust providers. If that can be done, what's to stop them from making a fake provider account, complete with fake reviews to back it up? If LE wanted to invest the time, they could (and probably do) have reviewer accounts on the major boards with BCD access. I'd like to think they have more important things to do.

Do I now need to start PMing reviewers to see if they really saw a provider? OK, I'm sure that's overy paranoid but I have wondered about the providers with one review and that's by a client with one post. Obviously P411 isn't as foolproof as I thought!

- legit P411 guy gets caught up in a sting and LE gets access to his legit account.
- before legit guy can contact P411 to alert them of the breach, LE 'uses' legit guy's P411 account to falsely set-up appointments.

I'd say that you're not only close, but since I know this happened in Memphis at least once before, and I know it happened in Little Rock at least once before, then I'd say that you're right on point.....

The only wrinkle I remember from the story as I saw it that is missing from your account (and since my information is second (minimum) hand, I could be misinformed) is the allegation that the cops got P411 access by telling "legit" guy that they'd be easy on him if he "cooperated" (i.e., turned over his P411 username/password) and he did so.

I'll accept correction from anyone knowing more than me (which is probably most everyone here).

p411 can't control what members do with their accounts. I can't begin to tell you how many pm's and emails I've received with "My p411 ID is..."

I'm headed to LR soon, went to update my 411 profile and LR isn't listed in p411 cities. Isn't that a hoot?

If I have met you face to face, if I know you, I don't have a problem giving a phone ref....assuming my phone is on and I'm answering it.

I've had SO's call and mail me. My hobby mentor got busted by his wife and she called everybody. For months and months and months. Up to a damn year, I think. Any woman could call me, claim to be any provider and ask about a client of mine. A little extreme, sure. But it works for me.
I screen potential clients before I speak to them; why shouldn't I verify the providers asking for references also? That's why I love the M&G's, why I tell providers "If you come through Mphs, let's get together.", why I try to always mail providers where I'm going when I travel..."Hey, I'll be there, any tips?"

Most of the time, I've communicated with nothing but wonderful professional people.

I closed my account on escorts dot com cause I was told that anyone can write fake reviews all day long and some guy was using me as a reference that I DIDN'T KNOW....scares the hell out of me.....

MJ.. on e.com there is a box under the review where you can put notes that everyone can see. Instead of closing your account you could have put in a note that said this is a fake review i did not see this guy.

Gloria- screening can be work sometimes but well worth the effort. Don't let one rude provider keep you from doing it. Follow the advice given in this thread! If you can't get a guy verified with another lady use an alternate way like employment info.
