well, from what i can gather here in the ATX area, some of the hobbyist will risk going BP for a girl they really HOPE is worth the risk and if they DO like her the review is sometimes in the hopes that she will sign up and become a VP here.
i know that isn't consistant across the board, eccie, p411 is not widely used in all areas. every one is different. i had girlfriends that travelled just a couple of weeks ago and one of the hobbyist told her that if she hadn't had a 'visiting' ad on p411 he would have never known she was going to be there. eccie isn't used as much. it's p411 and BP.
and i have lots of girl friends here that also advertise on BP. i don't think that it means that much really. it's just another ad. personally i have given it a shot and it's just not my thing. i find that i am 'spoon feeding' most of the guys that respond and i don't have the patience for that. but i wouldn't say it was a horrible experience! and i think just like on any board you are responsible for doing your own home work. if you take a gamble and end up TOFTT then, oh well. it happens. there are low lifes and scammers every where!
the boards make some feel safer i think because i know here the hobbyist tend to really watch out for talent and share info. and if they can get a lady on board and verified they feel like they have 'helped' her out.
and i don't think it should have anything to do with agency or indy. i started with an agency and the way i look at it...i paid them to do the screening and booking and advertising. i don't know how any other agency works, but i made it very clear...my body, my rules. no one TELLS ME what i HAVE to do. but i never looked to my agency for 'protection'. i don't trust anyone to do that for me. but i didn't mind letting them take care of all the paperwork since i was new and didn't really know anything.

There is a segment of BP advertisers who are well reviewed providers with excellent history of reviews. I am thinking of advertising there for my upcoming tours myself.

At the end of the day most dawgs are just interested in a good session, with a good looking provider, that is customer friendly, that they do not have to do a second mortgage on their home to patronize. Take two providers side by side both 25 years old, both are beautiful with well kept bodies, both are independent. One has all of the screening criteria, which for the most part drives away many dawgs, because not only do you have to give references, but references they approve of, so if you use a provider they do not personnally like as a reference then your shot out the water anyway. Then you have the BP girl, and a dawg thats been around can pretty much read between the lines and spot a TGTBT, she anwers the phone and within a reasonable time frame can book a appointment, half hour, hour, or longer what ever the dawg likes.
What many of the so called " dependable Eccie Providers/P411 crowd " do not realize is that in their own way they are forming a clan, and they feel somehow all the business is going to come through them with all of their screening, and reference criteria, so they all charge the same $300+/hour rates, they all use only each other as acceptable references, and they all use the same travel/business model. Take the N.O. board for example you have a clan of 6-8 that monopolize the eccie board, and by god because they been around fuckin and suckin for so long what ever they say is gospel.
I say the fresh faced BP hottie that does a $125 half hour is a breath of fresh air to the hobby in these markets. In alot of ways its what the dawgs are lookin for. Yes every now and then a dawg TOFTT, and that is unfortunate, but most times it only cost him half as much for the disappointment, because I have seen dawgs TOFTT with the so called P411 providers paying $300-400 for the pain.

The likely answer is the economy has driven some members to seek shorter time and lower rates.
But let's address some other issues, this started as BP question and turned into Agency/ Indy debate. ECCIE has an open door policy to all members of the community as long as those members adhere to our forum guidelines. The guidelines are fair and balanced and do not favor Agency, Indy, Male or Female.
Sometimes our mods express their personal opinion, as with any member they have that right of expression. All members have the freedom to express opinions and draw conclusions as to what they are comfortable with. All we ask is in any discussion or debate please observe our guidelines.
To go back to the OP question, we welcome all reviews and many Verified Providers started out on BP or CL and have become valuable members of the eccie community. There is a starting point for all providers, some with an Agency, some with a friend sharing what they do, all forms of advertising are good if they fit into your plans. I can't recall any incidence of any eccie Verified Provider that has been a bait and switch or danger to the community, they would be disciplined as would any male member proven to be a danger to the community.
We expect members to read reviews and make informed decisions about how they want to hobby. We try to present a community platform where the males write reviews, the VP's advertise and the decisions in the hobby have some information to prove helpful.

I see a few reasons. The first, unfortunately, is the death of ASPD. The first escort I ever saw I found on ASPD. While ECCIE *is* a great community, the fact is that the pool of providers here is a small subset of the total. Another major issue is the difficulty level in seeing an ECCIE girl. I've found a couple that turned me down because I couldn't provide two references they could contact. If you want someone -RIGHT NOW- a provider on ECCIE oftentimes won't work. BP has enough girls getting into the business that one of them is going to be willing to take a flyer on a newbie. A third issue is what seems to be almost collusion on the rates. Not everyone can drop $300 every time they want to see an escort. During a trip to LV I had a good day. It was fairly late (around 10:00) and I wanted to celebrate. I went to BP and started going through the ads and just started calling until I got a "yes, I'm available" at a rate I thought was decent. She was in my room in 45 minutes. When a guy wants to get laid 5 minutes is too long to wait, much less two days to get screened.
In this world, there will always be Wal-Marts and Macys. Some people may be willing to pay more to get the Macys experience (or sometimes, to avoid the Wal-Mart one) but at the end of the day everyone still wants to pay the Wal-Mart price.
