Bartered a couple times. Once fixing a providers site and giving new design. Other was a one hour photo shoot w/ editing up to 10 finished photos of her selection.

One thing providers should realize though, you have industry set prices and so do we. Any provider on here that has had photography work done can tell you it can get pricey. As we'll with website design. So the girl who offered a BBBJ for an hour photography session....that won't work.
I prefer cash ♡

I bartered collision repair with a professional cheerleader. Wound up costing me just over $4000 to fix her car. I don't know if I'll ever do that again but I'll remember that night for the rest of my life..... Maybe just a tire the next time LOL

I'm going to step out on a limb and offer grooming services (a nice warm and attentive Kitty shave) to select providers...

(I'm such a giver...)

Having done barter before, my best advice is don't. Pay for a guys services. If he wants a session, he can book with you. that way, there is no disagreement about what is worth what. No one feels cheated or taken advantage of. NCNS is never an issue. Both sides can shop for the best value as always. Lots of pitfalls with barter especially in this business. If both sides know each other well it helps but lots can go wrong.

Cash in hand tends to make people think a bit before doing something.

"Neither was the BBBJ…we're even."

OK, here's kind of a barter I did last year: I said "I'll take you to Victoria's Secret and you have a $400 allowance for clothes and I have an hour and a half with you. "You bet!" she said. So, we went, she spent an hour with me at VS, PLUS the 1.5 at her place, not including drive time, laughing, joking, stopping for booze. I felt like I was ahead.

I've done websites and photo editing for providers and agencies. In my experience the deal always seemed fair on both sides.
I have fixed a few cars for some of the ladies on here. Most of the time it has worked out. I have had only one not honor the deal so far. But I knew she was going to be a little risky going in on the deal. Rolled the dice anyway.I always make sure the barter is for my labor only and only risk the expense of my time. I trade two of my hours for one of there's. I guess I should ask for the services first but the logistics always seem to be the other way around.
I made an awesome arrangement with a hobbyist who is a hairdresser. I offered him $100 off a session if he would cut my hair (no shampoo; no blowout or set) which he agreed was an awesome offer.

I made the offer, so I made it generous enough so he wouldn't feel taken advantage of.

To me, the convenience of him coming to me, plus the stress-free feeling of just the two of us being in the room (no nosey listeners) and not having to lie to a civie hairdresser, made it worth it.

Since he already knows what I do, there was no awkward "What kind of work do you do?" "Are you off work today?" "Do anything fun over the weekend?" stuff I could actually sidestep and be my true, honest self.

Happy to do photos for the ladies. I think I have some nice ones of Barbie in the last review I did for her. The lighting could be better that's an easy fix.
