RETOUCHING & EDITING PHOTOS?

Well put Slave!

@ Candi, I totally agree! I don't tour, but I've looked at Austin's board before and YIKES! We seem to have way better relationships between providers-providers and provider-hobbyists down here than up there, that's for sure!

I know a girl that only uses BP, but she tours. She uses dummy ads, and basically bets on when they come to see here that they'll say fuck it and stay. She's a pretty girl too!! I don't get it or agree with that, but whatever, I don't know her like that to tell her anything...

I guess what this boils down to is that if when we meet I can't tell your photos have been edited, other than for ID issues, then it is not a problem. But if when we meet there are obvious differences then it is false advertising and wrong. Originally Posted by Laz

Yes I know..

Checkout Houstons board- OMG! Im a loner by nature..but Id probally be scared to post if that was my community, seems like a rough crowd lol

(No offense, sorry Houston ladies)

And yes Ive met girls that do that in many cities, THATS exactly why Ive started using BP myself less and less.

Photography is an art form. Taking pictures that capture a person accurately is not an easy thing to do. I enjoy it when a lady takes the time to have professional photos done.

Yea it's totally worth it being that u can pay for ur photos with one or two sessions. The amout of business u get from the photos far outweigh what you paid... Ijs

I don't retouch my photos I take but it's fun to play with effects and lighting... I can totally understand erasing blemishes (like a bump or scratch) and such since they will heal and disappear it makes more sense to edit them out... I don't see that as false advertising at all... Anyway, I love black and white photos and have been playing with some apps on my iPhone recently for fun... here are a sample of some pics I took... Before and after changes... I didn't do skin retouching or anything fancy... just color change... I prefer the b&w over the color... Enjoy!!

as a photographer, i can tell you that "retouching" is a very broad term. it's everything from removing a zit (or slave guinevere's bruise, which i didn't mind at all - it was just that much more time i got to spend looking at her!!) to hollywood level skin smoothing and alterations. just making a photograph black and white could be considered retouching.

regardless, it should always be a collaboration and discussed up front.

and, as slave g said, a true professional doesn't need to do a lot of monkeying around. all it takes to avoid the need for heavy retouching is good planning, good lighting, and good posing.

oh, and my personal favorite strategy...only photographing beautiful women like guinevere.
