Thanks for the strawman. Mine was about tariffs and the farm trade.

Are you not going to mention that the CBO also said it would shrink the economy and increase inflation?

With additional tariffs we can enjoy less that will all cost more. Great job, Tariffman.

If you share the good, share some bad and then you'll have... the facts of life. Like how he tariffs won't hold and if they do they don't offset his budget + his BBB. So we still add debt.

Btw, did anyone see the Lutnick testimony before Congress? He got excoriated over his notion of trade deals. They need to just let Bessent do the talking

Businesses and the Fed abhor chaos, and that's really Ynez only facet to Tariffman's tariff implementation thus far

Plus there isn't even 1 finalized agreement. There is a postulate of one with the UK, but not finalized. This whole showboat is a ruse, as Canada and Mexico haven't even been to formal discussions yet. Hell, China has denied all the suggested posturing of Trump that they were deep in talks. But Taco lying isn't anything we're not used to. The self imposed deadlines are gonna get pushed again, and again, or we will see a market meltdown and more grifting of Republicans

Think about this, Eye.

Bam told me zero tariffs was the goal but Lutnick told Congress that if Vietnam offered him zero tariffs in exchange for zero tariffs he wouldn't take the deal.

So how can that be the goal? Especially if the tariff revenue will replace income taxes?

Got any ideas on that kind of double-speak cognitive dissonance?

And that's just one set of conflicting goals we've been told. Because if we go with pulling back in all the manufacturing we would import less and then not be able to use tariffs as a real revenue source.

Someone in this administration needs to clearly articulate the tariff plan, because it still remains an ephemeral ketchup covered spaghetti toss at some walls.

Yay, they announced a meeting about a deal but not a deal.

That's great news
"90 deals in 90 days"

Still at 0 deals, even if they get to a n agreement in principle framework with China.

In other news, inflation is up. Not bigly. And before you confirm that some companies are eating the tariffs remember that some are still working off of frontloaded inventory, have delayed shipments due to the tariff uncertainty AND have signaled that they will increase prices.

Remember Trump's 90 days? Comes due next month. We'll want to be on the other side of that for a few months to really understand the impacts.
