Steelers 2024 thread

They need to move on the coach situation before there's no one left to choose from.

And yes Wilson is now 36 years ancient.
... Sorry to say it, mates... And it surely pains me to do it.

But - Tomlin is hurting the "Steelers" brand.
NO play-off wins in EIGHT (8) years... And onley TWO (2) seasons
with a play-off win in the last 14 years. ...

And this Tomlin bloke is considoured a "Hall of Fame" Coach??
He needs to move on - before he damages the Steelers brand completely.

Sure, the Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls. But where was that "standard" for the 26 years between Noll's last and Cowhers only? I honestly don't recall everyone calling for Cowher's job the way they do Tomlin's on an annual basis.

Yes, Tomlin has been underachieving in recent years - as have his players. Agree that there should be more playoff wins. But there have only been 58 Super Bowls. The Steelers have won 11% of them.

I don't think many fans realize how hard this shit is. Washington just won it's first playoff game in 19 years, and half of Steelers Nation is bellyaching about 8 years. Some teams have never even sniffed a Super Bowl. We're spoiled.
Tomlin says today “save your time” to other NFL teams in relation to trading for him.

Why not?? If he’s as good as his fans, and himself, thinks he is, why wouldn’t he want to prove his detractors wrong?? Prove he wasn’t just in the right place at the right time with two coordinators gifted to him?

The answer. He knows he was placed in the perfect spot at the perfect time with two of the best coordinators in football. Crock of shit that Rooney won’t have the balls to move on.

The Kneelers are officially the longest time between playoff wins of any NFL team.

Your constant derision of past coaches and endless support for a failed coach are beyond old and stale.

The hive mind has reached a consensus, and that is Tomlin is past time to go.

I'm seeing game boycott calls on major fan sites, as well as calls for the Roonies as the new Nuttings, for refusing to put a coach up who can win playoff games.

Sure as hell nobody expects a SB, every year, but a playoff game past the first round every decade would be nice.

And yes, we're approaching that decade.

The national media has finally stopped collectively worshipping Tomlin and most now indicate it’s time for a change at the top.

Why won’t Rooney?
... If Boney were on the case - he'd tell you fellows that
perhaps you're laying blame onto the wrong man.

... It's quite possible that Art Rooney ain't even running the team.

Front page above the fold story in yesterday’s Trib was how all the players love Tomlin.

Another Back-up QB? Skylar Thompson
Sigh.
But he's from the Kansas City area so best wishes to him.

I’d rather they didn’t like him but respected him.

I see Tomlin being forced down our throats for another year. But I also see chants of “fire Tomlin” raining down at Acrisure. It will get ugly and is all on Rooney.
So the Bears inquired about trading for Tomlin. It’s the Bears so of course they would.
The request was quickly denied! Bullshit! Apparently there’s a no trade clause but if Tomlin is as great as he thinks he is, you would think he’d welcome a chance to prove his “greatness”. But he knows he’s in the perfect spot with the perfect clown owner making $16 mill a year.
Hell….I wouldn’t be surprised if Teryl Austin returns. We are doomed.
... Agreed, Char - on the fact that Tomlin is at this point
just collecting money... He knows that his coaching legacy
is below a "Hall of Fame" level... "Won with Cowher's players"...

... And you can surely wager the flat money that you're CORRECT
that the boos and jeers will no doubt be raining down on Tomlin
IF the team Stinks...

2025 is here, isn't it about time for a new Thread?
