I'm honestly afraid of the virus and the vaccine.

So, I'm just stuck in my god damn room not sure wtf to do. Originally Posted by Strokey_McDingDong

If I were you I'd definitely get the vaccine. But if you're under, say, 30, COVID's a minor risk compared to driving every day. If you go the other way and decide to get vaccinated, your chances of dying from the vaccine might be one in a million. Probably less if you take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is less effective than Pfizer.

The number of deaths reported after the vaccine as of 6/12/21 was 5,479. However, the " FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause."

About 250,000 people die in the USA every month. 153 million people have received one shot, and 180 million are fully vaccinated. So hundreds of thousands of people have died after receiving the vaccine from other causes. Apparently the healthcare providers are falling down on the job because they've only reported 5,479 deaths.

From the CDC link, anaphylaxis, which has a mortality rate of 0.7% to 2%, has only occurred in 2 to 5 people per million.

There have been 1226 preliminary reports of myocarditis and pericarditis reported through June 11, from the link below.

https://www.bmj.com/content/373/bmj.n1635

They go on to say,

John Greenwood, president of the British Cardiovascular Society and a consultant cardiologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, told The BMJ....For the vast majority of people myocarditis is a benign, self-limiting condition and can be easily treated with NSAIDs. For a very small number of people the heart muscle can become impaired.

Anyway, I believe they've only been able to show a relation between the vaccine and myocarditis and pericarditis in young males.

Then you've got the thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), or blood clots, associated with the J&J vaccine -- 36 confirmed reports, mostly among women younger than 50 years, from more than 12 million J&J vaccines, according to the CDC link. I believe you can count the deaths on two hands, so there's less than 1 in a million chance of dying from TTS as a result of getting the vaccine, less if you're not a woman below the age of 50.

I think the largest number of deaths have occurred among the elderly who were close to croaking before they got the vaccine. The CDC doesn't mention this in the link. Norway's been studying deaths that occurred after vaccinations in nursing homes, to see if there's a relationship. I do imagine if a person has a strong immune response, fever, etc., and is extremely frail, the vaccine could push him over the edge. Anyway people were dying like flies from COVID in nursing homes before the vaccine came along, so still the risk is well worth taking.

Say you're right, and you're not, that 5888 deaths occurred as a result of the vaccines. I think it's in the hundreds, or less. Well, you've had 600,000 people die from the disease in the USA. Some countries like India, Peru, and Colombia which haven't been able to vaccinate a significant % of their population are being ravaged with the disease. It's a risk worth taking.

What you say about deaths due to the vaccine is EXACTLY what I've been saying about COVID deaths themselves for over a year now. LOL LOL

I am not scared of dying from either COVID or the Vaccine, but i do value my health and I don't want to be sick for even five minutes if I can help it and most people who have gotten the vaccine have gotten sicker than otherwise healthy people who have been exposed to COVID. Even being sick for a few hours sucks, and I bet you half of the people I know who have gotten the vaccine have felt sick for at least a few hours. I'll take my chances with the virus itself TYVM.

Personally, I prefer to handle my own groceries.

Offshore Drilling's been saying auto accidents in New York state are attributed to COVID. Well, if what's on the CDC's web site is true, then if someone who got vaccinated dies in a car crash, then his physician is required to report that on the VAERS database. And his death would be included in the 5888 that the Dutchman referenced.
