The other day I read of an old friend's passing. We shared many a harp with a shot of schnapps along with things we can't talk about here lol. A gentle soul with a passion for the Royals and Music, who turned me on to so much great music..........

A week or so ago I treated myself to a late birthday gift and spent an absolutely beautitul evening at Starlight enjoying the musical stylings of Messr Becker and Fagen. Not too many under 30's in sundresses but still a great time.

Also checked out the KC Blues Band at BB's a while back. I hadn't been there in forever and had a great time.

Queen, of course, comes to mind(sorry Paul Rodgers fans) and I can't imagine the Who without Daltrey up front(that's why I'm so pumped to see him in October). Now that I'm 50 my see them one more time list seems to have growing urgencey. I can't imagine seeing them without the Big Man anymore than if it was without Springsteen. When you think of the best songs they all seem to be driven in part by Clarence. And just his stage presence alone is irreplacable, let alone his musical talent. I try not to let too many passings affect me - my dad, John Lennon, probably the Super Chiefs once they all start to go - but CC's passing seemed to leave a hole for some reason. Brian Williams did a very nice piece on him the Monday after his passing. He's obviously a fan and speaks for most of us that are also fans.
