We all have our own experiences with moderators, just like we all have our own experiences with providers. I personally saw nothing from GP to indicate he was a mall cop when it came to moderating. Perhaps it was different behind the scenes. Nevertheless, i've seen enough from dearhunter to know better.

Frankly, if dd, or quail, or gp, or any other local mod went around doing what dearhunter does, you'd think of them what i think of dearhunter.

I'll admit that based on his pre-moderator postings, the last thing i'd have ever done was to make GP a mod. But the next to last thing i'd have ever done around here would have been to allow dearhunter to be a mod. At the risk of being banned by Farkus (idiot that he is) for mentioning he's the moderator of the spider hole, since it's his area, let him moderate the spider hole. And anyone who's not a member of the spider hole should be entirely off limits to him. If Trish's post was a violation of the guidelines, then let DD, Highwayman, or even CC deal with it. At least that way we'll have some consistency in the treatment of posts that reference topics in the ML, or the ROS, or the Powder Room, or the Spider Hole.

Having one set of Farkus rules regarding spider hole references, and another set of rules regarding ML, ROS, and Powder Room references is crap.

GP, at least in his public posts, seemed to change for the better once he became a mod, i'll give him that much.
