Not only is American Sniper an exceptional movie, it is a very rare movie. How many times have you walked out of a movie to deafening silence except for the sound of tears falling? I didn't wipe the tears from my eyes as I walked out of the movie. I wanted people to see me and know that the movie must have had a powerful message.
In addition to the statement about war, and it's effects on families, it struct me of the tragedy when we lose our "sheepdogs" who sacrifice so much in the line of service. There's an extreme irony that Kyle's life was taken by someone he was sworn to protect.

It's a remarkable story that Eastwood tells and Miller/ Cooper portray. They're even showing it in Iraq.

As I was heading home from the movie, I saw an old man on the side of the road that was missing a leg and holding a sign that said "I need help". At the light I got out of my car, walked over to him, and handed him some money. I've only done that a very few times in my life, but was moved to do so. I was appreciative of the other drivers for not honking nor running over me.

The reason the leftist Hollywood doesn't like it is because Clint the Conservative told a story of how it is; not from their protect the guilty from justice lovy dovy portrayal which keeps the sheep in flock following their Pied the Piper into the Plantation.

I sooo loved this movie!
Why does everyone take such great pleasure in assigning opinions to liberals? I'm as liberal as it gets (with my vote, anyway). And I loved the movie. You don't have to agree with someone's ideology to appreciate their art. And Eastwood is an artist. An absolute Picasso behind the camera. This movie was moving and insightful and I was impacted for days after. What more could you want?

Slightly off topic - quit bashing Seth Rogen. So much butthurt for an offhand comment which he clarified. Quit hating people who you have never even met.

Just spewing regurgitated bullshit or do you have an opinion of your own?

The movie did not "tie" anything as you so ineptly state. The facts of history, from a chronological standpoint are undeniable. 9/11 happened, shortly after the US was in Iraq. The movie made no attempts to tie that together, it simply discussed the timeline from Kyle's point of view.

Stop trying to force it. Your lunacy flows much more freely when you don't force the action.

How was he supposed to tell the story based on a book by Chris Kyle? It wasn't a documentary you tool.

There was poison gas that the USA gave to Iraq during the Iran/Iraq war in the 80's.

We knew we gave them poison gas in the 80's, the administration never mentioned gas, it was nukes.

Nice try though

Good job avoiding the question about the movie to keep it on topic. What's the matter 4, logic to simple for you to understand?
This thread is about the movie. A piece of fiction based on the autobiography written by Chris Kyle.

Their is a political forum on the main page if you wanna discuss politics with all the other sheep.

Me? I'm a sheep dog.... and a Cap'n Save-a-ho... and a legend.
It is pointless to argue with an idiot. Trill just because you believe what spews from MSNBC doesn't mean it is true. And yes, I was there serving my country. Were you?

Back to the story.

Amazing book, movie and does a great job showing the challenges people face when returning home.
