Beware of Valet Parking

Problem with CHL's and carrying. You are REQUIRED to be more aware as to where you can and cannot carry. Also you need to look for the signs. It is up to the proprietor to decide if he/she wants to allow licensed handguns or not.

I had a friend who got told by a cop that because she took the course she is more responsible than before. She cannot even "display" the weapon to discourage someone, aka open up a jacket to reveal the handle etc.

I am not against having one, just be careful out there

For a day and half I passed on opening this thread with an instinct that there could be no useful information here. But every time I logged in, the post count increased on this and it was always at the top so I gave in at last thinking I do not want to miss out on some important info. Right about now i feel like a fucking retard. What a waste of bandwidth and time inspite of some valiant effort by LK and TG to inject life into a lifeless post.

Well, we could discuss Leibnitz's opposition to Cartesian fatalism but I believe the mods are fed up with drama

Let me play devil's advocate here. . .

There is an object lesson to be found in Absolut's Thread that goes beyond valet parking, the latest trends in accessorizing handbags, and gun-toting trannies.

Absolut. . .let's go back to your being "dismissed" by the head of security when he gave you that derisive tone when you identified yourself as a mere "visitor."

Let me explain his derision for you. He is the head of hotel security. Do you think he might happen to know about the hobby and patterns of behavior in his hotel? Do you think he might have even go back to check you entering the hotel lobby and your travel in the corridors on surveilance video?

He then might also check that same hallway in front of the provider's room for the next 48 hours or so and. . .how about that. . .six different schmucks wearing fanny packs knocked on her door, stayed for about an hour, and then departed. All of them have big ass smiles on their faces as they left.

It doesn't take the rocket scientist of hotel-rent-a-cops to figure out something is up. I know you think you were standing up for yourself, but if you had pressed further you might have really fucked up your life and hers.

When I hobby while on business trips, I find it difficult to even complain to hotel staff about legitimate issues like the lack of hot water or a television that doesn't work, mostly because I do not want to draw any attention to myself that makes me memorable compared to other guests.

In my mind you got really lucky. You were inconvenienced, treated like dirt, but you got your key back. More importantly, you and her did not get caught as a result of your theatrics. If things had gone pear-shaped in this scenario. . .a one hudred dollar key replacement would have been the least of your worries.

Repeat after me. . .when hobbying I will be a stealthy chameleon when in the hotel lobby and hallways.
