If your income is family of 4 and less than $24,000 you get the expanded Medicaid (if your state excepted it, Which Gov Kasich did for Ohio). By the way $300,000 people in your home state of Kentucky got this benefit.
If your income is family of 4 and greater than $24,000 then you can apply for a private health insurance plan on the government exchanges (HealthCare.Gov). This is only for people in the individual market. If your employer offers you health insurance, then you cannot apply to get a subsidy for a private plan on HealthCare.Gov.
Over 100,000 people in Kentucky got private health insurance plans from the HealthCare.gov.
