President-elect Trump wants more coal. Does that make sense?

Do you actually know what you are posting or is the damage too deep? Originally Posted by LexusLover

But I capitalize the word.

What you, and many others fail to grasp or simply intentionally ignore, is that one's identification with one party or another does not mean that person mindlessly follows the "themes" and "issues" announced by the party's committee or decision makers or always votes for the candidates elected or appointed in primary stages of the election. I don't recall ever voting a "straight ticket" (meaning all one party or another), and have taken the time to review the various candidates (some of them I have already had personal knowledge) and then taken the time to go through the ballot and mark the candidate I wanted to win, as opposed to the party for which they were a candidate.

When one party or the other ends up with candidates that individual members of the party feel they cannot support they vote for another candidate or as was apparently the case this past year just don't vote for any of them for that particular office.

I realize the above explanation doesn't fit into your childish, pointless labeling and dismissive name-calling, but one day when you mature you will realize that pigeon-holing people in offensive and marginalizing categories is inaccurate and immature.

Kind of like saying Trump claims all Muslims are "terrorists" or all Mexicans are murderers and rapists!

A question I posed to begin this thread was: Should the federal government fund various black lung disability programs as they have been doing for some time?

Apparently, I misjudged the acuity of those who post on this section of the board. I now know -after paying closer attention- that this is a section of ECCIE dominated by a handful of relentless ranters and gloaters who try -it seems- to elbow others out. It is like an echo chamber. There is no exchange of ideas or respect for the opinions of others here. This is a screaming match of mostly unreasonables, and too often the few posts that demonstrate thoughtfulness are dismissed, attacked or ignored. There are some who describe the uncivil discourse happening in our nation in similar terms. It is discouraging to me, and I'm not entirely sure why we have become so crude, impatient and intolerant. I'm a glass half full kinda guy, but today's cultural demeanor and deportment is testing me.

It's probably frustrating to get a question in answer to your question, but even health care has become political. When that barrier was broken in 2010 ... there are no limits. It's disgusting!
Here was your initial response to my original post:

Coal is good to burn.....just make sure you turn the steaks regularly.

Yep, that's the kind of thoughtful, revealing response I was seeking. That's the level of give and take I hoped to start. (Not)

Go back and examine your subsequent posts on this thread.

All I can judge posters by is the content of what they write, their positions, and how they present and defend them.

There is so much juvenile babble on this board, so much shrill, bratty bullshit.
Worse than annoying, it's boring.

Adios.
