Backpage - TOAST!

I have noticed one thing in this thread that is somewhat disconcerting. As the saying goes, opinions are like burritos...or something like that, but this is my 5 cents. Anyone recall a little site called ASPD? Let's do the time warp again (2009). Eccie is the "spawn" of a site that was previously shut down in a similar fashion. There are other factors involved with ASPD closing down, but the finality of the situation isn't much different than what has happened to BP, and CL adult ads before that and in all honesty, what will likely happen here eventually as well. Eccie is a direct offshoot of ASPD's demise. I was here back then, and I know for a fact that many of you were not. I don't mean that as an insult, merely another observation. When one door closes, another opens. Some will sink and some will float to the top in newer, more creative ways. That's life. That doesn't just happen in cyber world, it's an every day occurrence. It makes sense that some girls might fear some additional competition here, but newsflash, again not to be insulting just realistic, new girls turn 18 every day, and new providers either for their own pleasure or sometimes through necessity will appear. And that hottie you met 5 years ago? She's five years older now. That could mean she improved through experience, or it could just mean she's 5 years older now, and burnt out. That means you have to always be on top of your game, providers. As far as the "integrity" of this community, which is, I believe, a more appropriate statement...if you signed up to get "premium access" or have your name added to some list of "valued posters" then maybe you're here for the wrong reasons yourself. This site has become some kind of popularity club. To think there exists, here specifically, the hobbyists of quality, whatever that means, should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. The same can be said for providers who feel in some way elite to other providers simply for advertising here versus another site.

There's a few Texas gals doing research on every site they can find and one of them found that and they asked about it.

As several folks have mentioned, I agree that regional boards will end up with increased activity.
Also agree, as Mocha and Gemma Fox both mention, that smaller markets will be hit hardest.

From what everyone has posted in this thread I think they're well aware of the parallels between Backpage and Craigslist, MyRedbook, ASPD, and other sites. The takeaway is that when advertising websites get bigger they have bigger problems and become bigger targets. Pure reviewing sites like TER don't get in as much trouble.

The one constant is change. In the future, we all may just use apps. Then there will be some guy bragging that he was around when ECCIE used to be good.
