Let's say assup starts a thread here blasting the KKK. Every day he adds another post with a new comment or link denouncing the Klan. Now let's suppose a KKK member sees this and becomes angry. He sucks at debate and always loses the argument when he attempts to defend the Klan. So he decides to retaliate by unleashing a spam-bot on the Political Forum. The spam-bot randomly bumps 10 threads a minute and can be turned on and off at will. It's almost like a hacker unleashing a "denial of service" attack on eccie's website. The Klansman says I'm not going to turn off my spam-bot unless assup stops trash-talking about the KKK. Would you, JCM, tell everyone we should all just work it out among ourselves?

There are issues of free speech and extortion involved here. And I say this as someone who much prefers and greatly appreciates the fact that this forum is lightly moderated with as few rules as necessary. Originally Posted by lustylad
