Good places to eat in Vegas?

I am a simple man. I am happy with Popeye's and KFC. Originally Posted by CG2014

Of course being "the holy grail of big chain commercial fast food in the U.S." is a lot like being king of the biggest dung heap in a bad neighborhood. But hey, it's the market they're in, and they are the best in it. That's something. I eat there quite a bit.
popeye's is great once in a while if you dont mind the >70% chance of popass

Of the ghetto chicken chains...

1) southern classic (good chicken, good sides)
2) Popeyes (spicy only)
3) kfc (original recipe when done right is terrific but usually it’s a soggy mess left over from yesterday)

Churches is tasteless. Not a fan.

Holy crap, I'm agreeing with Tara?

Churches is absolutely the best fried chicken of the three national chains.

Not sure why we're talking about Dallas in a Vegas thread, but Williams Chicken is where you should go to get fast fried chicken in Dallas. And Chicken Express is great for tenders and the best sweet tea at any local chain restaurant.

used to eat at william's chicken quite frequently while interning at super collider in waxahachie in early-mid 90s. ran into scottie pippen there once when bulls were visiting mavs... he was nice enough to sign an autograph.

DO NOT go to the Bellagio Resort Seafood Buffet unless you want to spend the rest of your Vegas trip on the toilet.

Some of the best restaurants in Vegas are not on the strip.

Thai restaurant Lotus of Siam in Chinatown, rated 4.5 on Yelp and 4.6 on Google, 620 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

https://lotusofsiamlv.com/dishes/

They are famous for many dishes but you MUST try this one:

KHAO SOI - Crispy duck served on a bed of egg noodles in a curry base sauce, garnished with sliced red onions, lime and pickled vegetables.

Mongolian restaurant Chubby Cattle, rated 4.5 on Yelp and 4.5 on Google, 3400 S Jones Blvd #15, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

You go there for one thing: Hot Pot where you cook meat and seafood and veggies at your table.

By the way, they opened a location in Plano back in April.

For late night eats, go to the corner of Vegas Blvd and El Bonanza and hit the food truck Taqueria El Buen Pastor for some of the best street food you will ever find.

https://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-el...by=rating_desc

The truck is there 24/7 and the owners are from Guatemala.

Rated 4.5 on both Yelp and Google, 318 Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas, NV 89101.

if you’re in the mood for bar b q, go to the the PAWN STARS location. the shop on the strip in the original store the old man started. the store that you see on tv is in a separate building behind the store.

there is a “strip mall” just south where Chumly has a candy (must go)..hours are noon till whenever he wants to leave...usually 2 or 3 pm.

Rick has a bar b q joint in the strip mall. which has the absolute best bbq and sides. i travel coast to coast every week and eat bbq where ever i can find it...this is the best
do NOT goy to Guy Feirri restaurant...i sure i spelled it wrong, but u know who i mean.
great atmosphere, crappy food

^^^ just about the same rule applies to any celebrity owned restaurant in Vegas.

Best to not go to any restaurant on the strip or the old Downtown Vegas and to any restaurants in any Casinos and Hotels on the strip and in Downtown Vegas.

Another good place to eat, believe it or not:

https://unlv.campusdish.com/Location...nDiningCommons

The Dining Commons cafeteria at University of Las Vegas
4505 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89154

You don't have to be a student or a teacher or an University employee.

You can just walk in like you were at Luby's Cafeteria and pay with cash or credit cards.
