I find that most set their rate due to either increase/decrease volume. Supply and demand at its core.

Others set price higher thinking it weeds a certain type of hobbyists.

I can only remember 2 times some one asked about my donation (let's say hypothetically it's $250/90min). And one was in DFW and actually said he almost passed me by because he thought it was too low.

The other guy asked for a special because he wanted to see me 3-4 times a week. And yes, I gave it to him and I'm about to give him a Punch card like Mythos suggested.
