OK-Shyster John has legal expertise; I have expertise here.
I write solely to medical treatment options - Nothing Else!
Neutropenia is not a cancer; can be caused by malignancy. treatments vary depending on the patient and cause of neutropenia.
Options for treatment of pediatric patient with neutropenia- some are above.
Shriner's and Scottish Rite- Dallas- focus on orthopedics and neurology. Galveston Shriner's is primarily burns in children.
Medical City- has a private Hematology group that sees children. Payment required.
Children's Medical Center of Dallas- the top hematology-oncology section in the nation in children's hospitals. Takes all comers and Medicaid - regardless of ability to pay. recommended. Has a recognized BMT program.
Cook's Ft. Worth Children's- I am less familiar, but has competent pediatric Hem-Onc docs. Takes Medicaid.
Parkland system- will refer to CMC- does not treat children
John Peter Smith- likely refers to Cook's for problems such as this.
St. Jude's - handles problems like this- in Memphis,Tn. Would be better to see experts at CMC prior to just going up there. The docs at CMC or Cook's can refer to St. Jude's as needed.
If you have not been to CMC or Cook's- have your physician contact them for you and go with all medical records for an evaluation- better upon physician referral to a Very Busy program- do not just call for an appt- you may get lost in the shuffle.
If your child needs a BMT- get another opinion at a recognized center and take your financial info for discussion with hospital financial administration.
I suggest this is a time sensitive problem- do not procrastinate.
Take care and wish you and your child well.

I still say she should have claimed that he has parvo, it would have made the scam a lot funnier.
Children can get Parvo...not from Animals.

This thread tells me something important...

If after reading the thread, you believe Brittney Leigh was trying to pull a "fast one", on such a grand scale, why do you believe it safe to give her screening info of any type, or meet with her for an appointment? To me, if this is an effort to defraud members, it is a sign that she will do most anything to make a buck.

It's time to think a bit about what may be driving this behavior, and in what other ways this may manifest itself, if you were to show up for an appointment.
This has been a sore spot with me for a very long time. There are some females on the board who will not work (hobby or otherwise), then come begging for money for whatever reason. Elsewhere in the universe, there are others who work full-time (and then some), yet are expected to just "suck it up" when something bad happens.

I was trying to be nice, but I knew right off this was not legit.
