The leading cause of death in the United States last week was cardiac arrest
A comparative increase in total deaths is not "proof" of alleged Covid-19 deaths in 2020. Let me give you an example.
30 or so years ago a newspaper JOURNALIST (they actually were 30 years ago!) decided to got [sic] "undercover" to discover the "cause" of increased shooting deaths in Washington D.C. vs. St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis had more shootings, but fewer firearm deaths. After some careful examination and extensive experience it turned out that St. Louis had a shorter EMS response time to the shooting scenes and St. Louis officers cleared the scenes faster for EMS to get in and tend to those shot. The shorter time periods saved more lives .... = fewer deaths.
There's a uptick in the Covid "cases" .... more testing.
And "cases" doesn't mean a trip to the hospital. An increase in hospitalizations can mean more beds available and an increase in revenues for the hospitals by admitting patients instead of sending them packing with prescriptions. Detaining them in isolation in the hospital can be a protocol to attempt to reduce spread as well. Hasn't the death rate from complications fallen?
When the "election" is "over" ... things will start looking better!
So you do blame Trump! Got it! Exactly what did you want Trump to do? If you can provide specifics. Otherwise save your bloviating for someone else.
As I've mentioned in here before ....
... I never saw a "movie critic" who actually made a movie.

Let's be clear about this: Increasingly, cause of death is being listed as Covid, when Covid played a role or can be identified as the central cause. It is also noted on death certificates when Covid is a secondary cause of death. Check out the death certificate format in your state or in a deceased loved one's state. As far as Trump's relationship to the pandemic, I would argue that he has been, at best, disinterested, and at worst, deceptive. His recordings with journalist Woodward were evidence of his attitude and response. Also, everybody saw and heard him describe the pandemic as a Democrat hoax. That was a crock of shit. His foolhardy statements about the pandemic slowing down and disappearing were juvenile. First it was Easter. Then it was by the 4th of July. And on and on went his nonsense. Utter stupid nonsense. Repeated over and over. Where has he been for the last three months, as the pandemic surges again? No leadership at all. No interest, it seems. Either that or he is completely unsure about how to proceed. Trump deserved to lose the presidency for many reasons, in my opinion, but no reason was as telling as his inadequate and foolhardy efforts regarding the pandemic. Trump finally ran into an issue he couldn't manipulate with tweets, hairbrained proposals, distractions or misdirection. The pandemic kept coming, and Trump's response or effort was practically nonexistent or sorely lacking. That is how history will accurately remember his presidency.
I've been saying this for a long time now- lost a friend from "cardiac arrest" in June. Was healthy, had Covid, couldn't breathe, went to hospital, dies 2 weeks later. Death Certificate is...yep cardiac arrest. Death rates from Covid could be 3 times what is reported. OR, media could be over reporting assuming all deaths are Covid.
I definitely will. With a 95% effectiveness rate I'll no longer fear for my life every time I walk into a strip bar. And I won't feel compelled to wear the diver's helmet any longer. Carrying around an oxygen tank everywhere I go is a royal pain in the ass.
