Okay, I'll be the surprise out of the rabbit hole: A few years ago a client had me on "retainer," so to speak, for a couple of grand a month, and he just assumed, wrongly and for no reason I could determine, that I was not seeing black clients. One day he found out that I DID NOT have an NBA policy. He offered me another $1,000 a month to stop seeing ANY man of color, black, Indian, and even Hispanic. (Didn't seem to have a problem with Asians. strangely.) Since I was still pretty new in the Hobby, it was tempting for about 2 seconds, but I was so appalled that instead we parted ways. (It was not a pretty "break-up.") Left me a little rattled to realize he was probably wearing the sheets we had been sleeping on at a KKK rally later.

I heard a first-hand account about this sort of thing about a decade ago. I had one of the local spas as a client, and during a photo shoot I became friendly (socially, not BCD) with a few of the women who worked there. She mentioned that her BF told her, in no uncertain terms, not to see black guys.

He himself was black, and from what I learned about him later, a stereotypical deadbeat wannabe pimp. His fear was that she'd be doing some of his buddies, apparently.
