Whether one subscribes to Edmund Burke's "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it," or George Santayana's variation: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," or Winston Churchill's "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it," any of the quotes seem appropriate for those of us intending to make positive changes.
Obviously Churchill was not the first to use this phrase, and apparently neither was Santayana. No matter, simple truths likes these seem to last through the ages. I did double check to make sure I had the author correct and found Santayana's version. I've always been accustomed to Churchill's version and didn't think the grammar Nazi's would branch out into "who said the witty remark first."
