Why is Htown so slow this weekend, bored provider over here!

The reason it's slow for providers is simple, IMHO.

1. The slow down in the oil industry has a trickle down effect on the rest of the Houston economy. There are lots of lay offs in the oil industry. They must spend their money on necessities, not Providers, vacations and toys. Businessmen are all saying things are slowing down now, so they begin to cut back and/or lay off their employees, too.

2. I have seen many Independent Providers raising their rates in the last six months or so.

3. Hobbiests have less money to spend and providers are becoming more expensive. There is a very well known Provider that I saw at $250/hr. and now she charges $400/hr.

Just say'in.
Pussy is outside the basic economics of supply and demand. But still when there's no money, not less money, things will have to adjust.
With all the layoffs, those seeking work are going to have to look outside the industry. Eventually affecting other areas of the economy. It will in the end get around to reaching the hobby but that's a long way away. And more than likely oil will rebound before we see any changes here.
