I figured out what's going on with the Cowboys. They thrive on mediocrity. See, they have been very close to a .500 record since about 1997, and they are very comfortable with it.
Last season, going 12 and 4 threw things out of balance, so to get back on track and maintain the .500 record, they need to be 4 and 12 this season. It's simple math.
