Are You Ready For Some Football ?

Funny no crowing over the game last night, Giants 10, Cowdorks 7 with Bryant coughing up a timely (for NY) fumble! Originally Posted by Solemate62

Dez (along with the rest of the WR's) simply played a poor game. The Giants showed (and executed) numerous blitz packages and the receivers didn't adjust their routes accordingly. They left Dak hanging out to dry more often than not.

Dez Bryant, in particular, at this stage of his career needs to be better. He was targeted 10 times (1 catch...1 fumble....and was the root cause of the 2 INT's). With a rookie QB, he needs to raise the level of his play (and be mentally tuned in). If he can't, Dallas should simply shut him down and play with those who excelled during his absence earlier in the season.

Dez is a wasted talent.

I would also be curious (in a hypothetical "What If" world) what Dez would be in a Bill Belichick / Tom Brady offense. While he's not the talent Randy Moss was, Dez does bring skills to the table that are unique unto himself.

I've always felt Garrett and his playbook have not maximized his abilities to the fullest. Last Sunday night in NY was an example of not getting him involved in the game plan early....and it clearly went downhill from there.

I noticed an interesting stat.. Tampa has won 5 in a row (?)I believe, and their "points for" is lower than points allowed.. they are 8-5, but the Saints (same division) are 5-8, and have more points scored than allowed. I guess that means Tampa was getting the crap beat out of them early in the season, and have since adjusted well?
I agree with the comments the blitz, they've got to handle it better. Every team is going to blitz now until the Cowboys make them pay for it.

I also agree with the comments about Dez. He's got the physical talent and he's being paid as one of the best receivers in the league. He's got to get his mental toughness back

Their first 8 games they went 3-5 versus teams with a cumulative (thru week 14) 49-54-1 record. The Bucs were a minus (-52) in point differential.

Since then they've gone 5-0 versus teams with a cumulative 31-33-1 record. The Bucs have a +49 point differential over that span....hence they are still -3 over the course of the season, facing a cumulative 80-87-1 team(s) record.

They've beaten some decent teams of late....Kansas City (10-3) and holding Seattle (8-4-1) to 5 points and Drew Brees and the Saints (5-8) to 11 pts last week.

This team is coming to Dallas this weekend confident....and hungry...and want to make a case they're for real. Stay tuned....

I thought Dak was learning how to figure out Dez but now I'm convinced that Romo can only speak Dez's route running language. The offense was a lot better when Dez was hurt and not playing earlier in the season for a reason. Romo understands Dez. Dak probably wonders what wrong route is this fucker running because I have to throw the ball to him a lot or he is going to go crazy on the sideline.

I will admit Dez has matured a lot of the years. But he is underachieving as a receiver.

The deep pass patterns should be there against Tampa. The Bucs don't blitz much (ie: they get ample enuff pressure with their front four) but they do love to take away that short, underneath passing game from teams....they will basically dare you to go middle-to-deep on them.

I think the Cowboys should oblige them....early and often. Hit a few over the middle (maybe give them a dose of Brice Butler on a fly pattern or two)....before you know it, the running game (and play action) will become quite effective.

As noted before, this Tampa team is coming in very confident in themselves. After seeing Dallas vs the Giants game film they will supremely believe they can (and will) do the same as NY did. Dallas needs to bring a LOT more energy to the field than they did last week. Otherwise, it'll be a long night for everyone.
Well now ..... it took 14 games into the season but it finally looks like we may have found ourselves a legitimate pass rusher .....

Maybe your upset that the cowboys WON? Maybe your upset that the cowboys has a rising pass rusher in #95 DE David Irving, since you linked my post? Maybe your upset that TEXAS still has 2 TEAMS that are still alive? Maybe your upset that the SD chargers are not going to be in the playoffs? (they might get a win this week since they are playing Cleveland lol) I know you can't be upset about those spread points of -8.5 that went down to -6.5 and the cowboys didn't cover by a half point but Still won the game! I think you might have better luck at playing Texas holdem poker than betting football, or follow a different team than those SD chargers. lol BTW, early betting for the cowboys/lions game is cowboys -7 and the over is 43 but maybe in LOST WAGES, the early line might be -8.5 again. you better hurry up and lock it in pussy.
