That dude was a man when he was serving and wasn't undergoing hormone treatment compromising his ability to perform his assigned missions, and he didn't get the procedure paid for by the military. So, his current stance is bullshit. If someone joined and served, as he did, then if and when that individual decided s/he wanted to be the opposite sex that individual should do as he did. Do it on their own time with their own money. Taxpayers shouldn't be required to pay for elective surgery, and service personnel should not be taking hormones or undergoing elective procedures that unnecessarily incapacitate them for extended periods of time while serving: plain and simple.
