My team is Syracuse which is the same predicament as UT. On the bubble. Watching the NIT games is like watching the early out-of-conference games against weak teams.

So we got rid of Rick Barnes for Shaka Smart. Smart has had much better recruiting classes that Tennessee. Barnes has TN at a 4 seed and in the tourney for the 1st time in over 10 years and the only time Smart was in the tourney for us was his 1st year with Barnes players. We signed this guy until 2023 and in no way should we fire him yet. But it sure looks like Charlie Strong 2.0.
Money is guaranteed too. So much for going for the flavor of the month. Not to mention what sanctions the ncaa might put on Texas.
Rick Barnes led the other UT to a share of the SEC conference title. Longhorns may get NIT invite.

They’ll get a play in game probably.

The Horns were cold once again shooting the three (disappointing after coming off that sterling 11 for 19 game vs WVa). They'll need to shake that off and heat things up, if possible, from the outside vs the Red Raiders if they want to advance (and improve their seeding).....stay tuned.

I think UT is in now because I keep hearing that on espn. What I can’t believe is the number of Big 12 teams that are considered “in” also. Especially, OU. Is the Big 12 really that good that OU can make the tourney based on their last 12-14 games?

f the committee puts them in, fine, who givesafuck#OUsucks. They're one and done considering what their seeding will be.
The “experts” may predict what they do, but more often than not they are wrong. Id say seeds 8-16 are up in the air. The rest have been decided.

This whole if you win x percent chance of getting in is just for clicks.

7 or 8/10 of the big 12 teams will get in but I don’t think they all deserve get in. You should have at least 20w to get in.

I called it early on that UT would make the NCAA tournament. They actually under-performed in my opinion, maybe due to injuries and a suspension, but they still made it. I don't expect them to be in the Final Four but they could surprise Nevada and then give Cincinnati a run.

Number of wins is irrelevant in many cases due to the schedule played by many teams. St. Mary's won something like 25 games with only 1 quality win. When a team plays in a major conference they are going to lose a lot of games. In the Big 12, 9 of the 10 teams came close to getting in. Every game was a battle. Being on the selection committee is not an easy job.
I think those that got the out large bigs are mainly because of eyes. Ou wasn’t worth a 10 and neither was Texas but you know the top draft picks would have to be in.

Anyway, I think it was picked well. I don’t think Texas will do anything v Nevada bc they are the highest scoring team in the tournament and Texas is the worst team in the tournament fg% wise.

Glad Baylor was left out.

Fitting end to a frustrating year. We are up 14 points and choke. How do we choke? Stalled offence, missed clutch FT's (numerous times) Roach and Dillon O Big time! We get to OT and I knew we would blow it. At one point they were 6-6 and I think 3 or 4 of those were 3's. Couldn't get 1 fucking stop! Truth of the matter is we shouldn't of even been in the tourney. Fucking disapointing and ridiculous!
