"THEY" aren't closing anyone yet because it is not yet law. However, what has websites voluntarily shutting down is the retroactive clause in the bill (which should ultimately help it get struck down in the courts-- Ex Post Facto, anyone?) .

The closures currently going on are voluntary and are moves on the parts of the various websites to stay legally safe while this winds its way through the courts.
Sounds like its time to fuck like there's no tomorrow

I don't know about the "ex post facto" argument. I took a look at the text of the bill (which you can find here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-...bill/1865/text ). What it looks to me like it says, in sorta plain English translation, is something like this: "This bill amends an existing law. If you did something in the past that was against the law the way it was before this bill amended it, this amendment doesn't make it OK and absolve you of having broken the law as it existed at the time you did what you did." *EDIT* There also seems to be a section that says something like: "this amendment doesn't limit certain sections, so if you did something that violates those in the past or in the future, we didn't change that." But then IANAL and the language is pretty convoluted, so I might have gotten that completely wrong. But that's what I got out of it.
Hahaha. Yes betterwait you are very correct.
Anyone who wants to have foreplay with me that i have yet to meet, kindly message me your emails asap LOL
I wish I could have bought into protonmail mail. I’ve been using them for years but have never met anyone else with it. Now in one day I’m seeing everywhere lol.

On another note, it doesn’t get anymore ironic than trump signing this bill.

Tough decision, but if it does happen, in the grand scheme of things, I would be able to cope without all that drama.

If they haven't yet, it appears that all guys need to obtain the provider(s) contact info (email, phone. ect.) that they wish to be able to see in the future, and I have mine.

It would be ironic if BP was the last one standing, simply because they have the balls and cash to fight it.
Backpage cooperates with law enforcement. It is actually a very good tool to combat human trafficking. I have not been keeping up with their legal battles. I know they had a small victory in where the SCOTUS turned down a lawsuit against them. Are they legally damned if they do and damned if they don't shut it down?
