There is one set of lawyers to keep them out and one set of lawyers to keep them in and a judge in between to resolve any conflicts. Some call that "due process"!

Generally speaking and from some personal knowledge, lawyers in the military are accustomed to working both sides of the fence, and occasionally work the fence. Personally, I'd rather have a military lawyer than a tree-hugger.
