I'm being blackmailed. What should I do?

The blackmail and extortion laws in Texas essentially charge offenders with a theft crime: Extortion is an act of demanding property or money by threatening property damage, violence, reputational harm, or an onerous government action. ... That's because the actor's conduct is an implied threat of sorts.

Hell, I’m ready to hire SJ and I’m not even in the shit.
I’m a lawyer. Quit communicating with her and go to the police. Follow their instructions. If they dint act, seek out a good criminal lawyer that has a good relationship with the DA’s office. PM me if you need a recommendation. Originally Posted by TexTushHog

Yes its slightly blackmail but I'm sure there is tons of back story that hasn't been said...
You said you met her off of a SD site, was a car part of the sugar agreement or ever discussed?
If so your (lawyer & blackmail) plan already has holes in it. If I were you, I would help the girl with a car, or be prepared to tell your wife yourself.

Never ever give up your leverage. How to parlay that to your advantage is an art form.

I was on an SD/SB site and heard this a few times over 2 years. It's very, very common. Originally Posted by petitefunlady

OP needs to take the advice that has been given by B3 and SJ.

Now-- that doesn't mean she won't go ahead and tell the wife.... but she has already opened herself up to a legal issue at this point.

Happens all the time, guys.

I'm still wondering why anyone is taking the OP's word at face value. Having said that, it's an interesting topic that does happen so even if he is full of shit, it's worth a discussion.
I’m sorry you’re in this jam.
I had a similar situation. I saw a girl from high school at our reunion. My wife and I were separated so I asked her out. Very hot lady, romance ensued, very crazy, as I soon found out. Short story, wife and I got back together “for the kids”, mistake, girl from high school went “boil the bunny” postal. Got my unlisted number by calling my parents. Since it’s a small town old high school friend they gave her the number no biggie. She called the house left a message on the answering machine, said she was going to call the wife, tell her about “us?” Sooooo, I changed our phone number to delay her calling by a day. I had my secretary (and close friend) call her at 7 am the next morning.... woke her up, screamed at her, told her she was my wife and that I had told her everything about us seeing each other. Told her if she wanted me she could f...ing have me but she had better leave her and our kids alone. Never heard another word from her. By the way, I had covered many times for my secretary when she didn’t want her husband to find out what she was doing so she sort of owed me one. Good luck with your quest for peace.
