Should trump resign now?

To quote my grand dughter, "Whatever . . . .(with a dramatic eye-role).

The point I am trying to bring forward is not that anyone should do now or should have done in the recent or distant past. All I am saying is that IF a President is to be replaced . . .for whatever reason and however it comes to pass . . .that doing it before the midterm elections is a limiting strategy.

The Nixon-Agnew-Ford switch-a-roo was not actually by design, but it does provides a template for party power brokers to contemplate in this modern era of partizan power management that can be used to completely alter the Nation's executive branch without dealing with the uncertainty of an election.

This discussion of political gamesmanship does not need to also find one or another to be a genius or a "1-D-10-T" (as the old blond joke goes).

You suggest Trump will replace Vance with an electable VP and then resign? That an electable Republican would touch Trump with a ten foot pole? And then he resigns???

Not till they pry his cold dead hands from the auto-sharpie.

From my other posts on this forum, it is obvious that I support President Trump's policy agenda. Yet, his age may be affecting his health. It may become necessary for him to step down . The remote possibility exists that his cabinet would force him out using the 25th amendment.

I am suggesting that if Presidentt Trump canot serve out his full second term, then the scenario for the Republican Party would be to stick it out till just after the midterm elections, before taking action.

If thee is a faction that would prefer someone other than VP Vice to led the way forward for possibly the next twelve years, then Vance should somehow be replaced prior to the midterms and another VP apointded.

All I am putting forward is a template for circumventing the election process that actually took place in the 1970s with President zNixon.

It is my view that the Democrat's power brokers should have taken that route after 2022 when it became obvious to all that neither Biden nor Harris were effective executives. It is my admittedly biased view that neither of them could have been effective leaders of a PTA or Home Owners Association.

Wile President Trump has my support, I recognize use that his ability to continue as president may not last, for health reasons. The presidency wears out everyone. Age does too.

Mental health reasons.

This president has worn out the whole fucking world.

He needs to go. I will not mourn him but will celebrate American resilience when he is gone,
