There are no fucking intellectual debates going on in this forum. It's like debating why your favorite sports team sucks. Few things in this forum are objective. You don’t understand. I’ll give you examples. I argued we have a large current account or trade deficit in the US because consumption and investment exceed savings. In other words we’re a nation of spendthrifts. Increase our savings and the problem goes away. LustyLad maintained the explanation isn’t that simple, that there are barriers to trade in other countries, for example, that play a big part in creating the deficits. In another instance I was arguing that it’s reasonable to include the employer’s share of payroll taxes in the tax burden born by businesses. Captain Midnight pointed towards research that indicates it’s the employees who bear that burden. (We both left out the possibility that maybe it’s the consumer who bears them, which maybe fits in with your theory about sports teams)
If you are a hardcore fan, nothing the other person says is even taken into consideration even though your NFL or NBA team probably does suck. That person will bring up bad calls by the referees and whatever the fuck he can think of to defend his team, but the bottom line is his team just sucks so quit making excuses because your team's record doesn't lie.
