Voters trust Republicans more on major issues

Yep. Elections are the only polls that really matter. Originally Posted by tommy156

It's not their money. They don't care how they spend it. Betcha the donors care. Why don't you tell THEM to stop wasting their money writing big checks for the DNC to waste on "meaningless" polls? They need to throw their bases red meat from time to time to keep them interested. That's all polls are. Completely meaningless, in the big picture. Only elections matter. So if people don't bother voting because the polls show a political candidate is way ahead/way behind in a race, is that not a "consequence"? Originally Posted by tommy156

As anyone active in politics will tell you, polls have BUCKETLOADS of consequences.

Empty suits like Joe Biden follow them religiously and shape/adjust their policies accordingly.

Polls are not good at predicting outcomes per se, but they may induce a change of perception or lead / incite an audience to vote or change course if they feel they are losing on a matter, or a principle. Hence many polls are used more to gaslight vs predict behavior.

In other words a poll does not predict future behavior in today's political climate ,it tries to change it.

They are predictions and nothing more. Some end up being right, some end up being wrong. They could all be conducted in the exact same manner and you'd still have mixed results.
