So then let's bring it back. Why is Trump so popular with fascists and neo-nazis? Originally Posted by HDGristle

Really? What would the D side be bringing that is MORE dictatorial than the current administration??

I didn't recall cancel culture of the left causing shows or threatening of FCC licenses. I know that some conspiracy theories were disproven.

I don't recall internment camps.

I don't recall the national guard going to any town to silence demonstrations or just for the jollies?

I don't recall any military parades that just happen to be on a leader's birthday?

I don't remember the markets being in a roil every other week due to uncertainty of policies and tariffs.

I don't remember christian nationalism being more important than teachers or children or people who were just minding their business- and still being murdered.

I don't remember a bunch of billionaires being given the keys to the kingdom and writing in tax breaks for the wealthiest- while stripping away even moderate healthcare- and especially that for women.

I do recall that all that happened under the current administration.- The Fascist one that calls any difference of OPINION as fake. Just like the BLS numbers being fake, judges are fake, and news reporters are fake, and climate change is fake and ......well if it's not Trump- then it's fake.

How do you know a Fascists is lying??

Fascist lies are built on ideology, not empirical facts
Fascist ideology considers "truth" to be whatever serves the success of its movement and reinforces its belief in its own natural superiority. This framework allows them to manipulate reality by:

Rejecting empirical evidence. Fascists see facts not as objective truths, but as malleable concepts shaped to serve their political goals. Instead of acknowledging errors, they will simply declare a different basis for what is true.

Manufacturing their own reality. A historical example shows how fascists can intentionally create conditions that make their lies seem real. In Nazi Germany, the lie that Jews spread disease was "turned into a reality" when the regime confined Jews to ghettos and concentration camps where unsanitary conditions caused illness.

Key rhetorical strategies that identify fascist deception
According to experts, here are common techniques used to deceive the public:

The politics of unreality. Fascists deliberately blur the line between reality and falsehood, often spreading conspiracy theories to foster distrust in independent information and create a sense of being under siege.

Anti-intellectualism and disdain for facts. To prevent people from challenging their ideology, fascists attack universities, independent media, and academic institutions, dismissing them as "elites" whose education should be viewed with suspicion.

Exploiting fear and division. Fascists create a mythology of an idealized past that was supposedly destroyed by an enemy group. They fuel resentment and anxiety by portraying their in-group ("us") as victims while scapegoating and dehumanizing an out-group ("them").

Disguising deception with plausible deniability. Tactics like "dog whistles"—seemingly innocent phrases that carry coded, derogatory meanings—allow fascists to promote racist or harmful ideas while denying any malicious intent. A racist message about "inner city" crime, for example, can be defended as a factual observation while still stoking prejudice.

Appealing to populist victimhood. Fascist leaders will often lie about their own background to present themselves as "one of the people" fighting against corrupt elites. This deflects from their often privileged status and reframes any opposition as an attack on the common person.

Everyone of these are TRUMP tactics and clearly defining of him, his administration and those who support him. Originally Posted by eyecu2
