I, personally, dig the tats. I hate to say this one thing, as it may sound odd - but I feel that if the artwork is bad, or it looks like someone grabbed a Groupon for their tat work, then that makes for some distraction.That is not odd. I actually love tats if they are well done/thoughtful, but when it looks like they were done by someone's best friend at a drunken party, it's very distracting. Crooked writing, jagged lines, etc.

I have one tattoo that is not really representative of who I am now, but I think it's a good thing to remember your past and what made you who you are, so I have just left it alone for now.
Plus it's on my back so I never have to see it!
