Thanks VK, DD and KM. With All due respect, I addressed that post to Mr. Woodward. I can appreciate your need to chime in and defend. That is what good defenders of the wood do. (This pretty much sums up my white knight statement) But by asking a direct question a second time to Malwood, I am told I am silly, out of the loop, (and you wonder where the cool guy club talk comes from) and I am making to big a deal of the "situation". and none of those quotes came from Mr. Wood himself.
Are you all speaking for Mr. Malwood yourself? Or could it be interpreted that you guys might be making "too big of deal of the entire situation " yourselves. I cant answer that because I am not in the loop. (Your loop anyway)
I never said that reviews are the only thing that matters. The other posting options are quite helpful and entertaining. But to defend your position by saying reviews are not neccessary is to me saying that the other 10,000 posts between the 4 of you is a good reason to log in and follow all the "in the know" cool stuff you all have to say.
Get a grip. Without reviews, no board. Without a board to post reviews, you have no place to share your "in the loop" information. (KM your exempt here. You have posted reviews). KM, you don't have to answer this, but I am completely confused by your logic.
How many times has someone shared in a thread somewhere an experience with the subject of the thread and then they have been asked repeatedly, "where is your review" ? You could almost say that would be one way to "entertain" the masses. Wouldn't it.

You ARE making too big of a deal out of this entire situation. You keeping harping on reviews, and I never said they weren't necessary, just that they weren't the end all be all on this board. I wouldn't simply dismiss what someone has to say based on their review or post count if what they had to say was intelligent, concise, and meaningful in some way.
As for someone sharing their experiences and someone else hounding them for why they didn't post a review? I don't think it happens all that often. Most of the time I see folks discuss their experience with a lady and no one really brings it up. They just add it to the information already posted and go on with the thread.
That's not to say it hasn't or doesn't happen, hell I'm sure I've done it once or twice and asked why someone didn't post a review but honestly if they don't want to share it, its none of my business. It was their experience which they aren't forced to share, nor should they feel as if they have to share every experience they have had in this sub-culture we call the hobby.
My statements were simply my opinion on reviews, there will always be an exception to the rule so any opinion I have may not work for every situation that may arise. The world isn't black and white, its grey (or gray), try to keep that in mind.
